Jackson, C Miller The meeting was called to order at 7 40 p m S Goodwin offered a correction to the June 14 Minutes - that the appointments of Alternates to the Home Care Corporation Board of Directors be reviewed MOTION Moved, seconded, and unanimously approved the Minutes of the Meeting held June 14 with the correction noted above J Carlson presented a Treasurer ' s report as of June 30, 1978, and noted the bills sent to the Town MOTION Moved, seconded, and unanimously approved the Treasurer's report as presented R Weinstein noted that in his absence at the June 14 meeting the discussion had involved him His use of the term "Hidden Agenda" meant an action was contemplated which was something not on the Table in the form of a motion New Questionnaire R Weinstein asked if we might use the Newsletter to obtain data regarding how many people are interested in CoA services This was done some time ago, but it was decided that it could be repeated in September New Council Members The Secretary was advised to send a letter to Town Manager Hutchinson asking that S Clark be continued as a member and that the two new appointments be made as soon as possible It is planned to discuss the FY ' 80 Budget at the September meeting with all members present Senior Site Committee W Sen reported that the following people are now members of this committee Harry Erickson, Edward D McCarty, Hannah Mollo-Christensen, Mark Moore, Phyllis Reservitz, Joseph Rooney, William Sen, Jane Stumpp, Marilyn Waehler, Martha Wood, Les York +MGnNm. Joan Halverson, Nancy Banks o° im \ Q \ PVPI pixy EkMG'[G Lexington Council on Aging Minutes of Meeting on July 12, 1978 ( Senior Site Committee (continued) Barbara Novak from Boston University is operating with the Committee for the next three months Two subgroups have been formed (1) one to visit outside facilities; (2) the other to perform a needs assessment, write the rationale for the Senior Center The subgroups will work with the Recreation Committee and other town boards These two groups do their work, meet in September, merge, and become a Design Advisory Group The plan is to brief Selectmen about November 1 with possible informa- tion for a Warrant Article CoA Advisory Group The question was asked "What happened about the CoA Advisory Group formation activity after its one meeting Frayda Cooper should continue the formulation activity Coordinator 's Report, J Melcher (attached) Summer manning is a problem with the absence of Nedra Shulkin Joan will be away two weeks starting August 7 MOTION Moved, seconded, and passed unanimously that the CoA find someone to volunteer to take Joan' s place while she is on a two-week vacation CoA Recreation Committee Report, Barbara Luckman After a meeting of its members, the tentative program of the CoA Recreation Committee includes the following Two programs planned a month - variety of days and times, and activities (Sr Citizens Club will continue to have its own Christmas luncheon as usual ) Something special planned for Valentines Day Ballgames, races, Chateau de Ville productions to be included Different people are helping take the telephone call reservations Barbara Luckman plans to be at the CoA Office at a regular time for calls Notices will be carried in the CoA Newsletter Fund Raising Projects The possibility of fund raising projects for the CoA is being considered This would involve all senior groups Home Care Corporation, S Goodwin A Job Skills Bank proposal with Middlesex Community College was turned down as it was felt that it needed to have a paid Coordinator, not a Volunteer The Home Care continues with its Congregate Meals Program, serving many people, and the Home Meal Delivery helps others A report was given on Home Care Corporation' s activity in behalf of Lexington The decision was made not to have an August Council meeting The meeting adjourned at 9 20 p m.
