Green The meeting was called to order at 7 .45 PM Observer Springman was introduced. MOTION Moved, seconded, and unanimously approved the Minutes of September 12 Treasurer's Report Carlson traced the beginnings of the CoA budget. The statement was made that we have spent 32% of our budget in the first three months of this FY. Shortfall is due to the phenomenal programming growth since the move to the new quarters in the Church of Our Redeemer and the necessity of submitting a budget so far ahead with a 0% increase allowed. An explanation was given of the $3000 for recreational use by the Senior Citizen Club, the AARP, and the Jewish Leisure Group. Weinstein recommended that the Recreational Committee come back with the budget for recreation for all the senior citizens of Lexington. Rooney announced that he had obtained $500 to help pay for the office hospitality expenses. Tropeano suggests that we go to the E & D Fund for relief of anticipated operating shortfall. MOTION Moved, seconded, and voted that a committee review the FY80 budget and come up with recommendations to the CoA. A committee was so appointed Sen, Carlson, Goodwin, Rooney Tropeano, and Weinstoan. Coordinator' s Report : The FY81 budget is due November 2nd. Melcher explained her proposed FY-81 budget. . It was suggested that Sen find out what plans are from the Church concerning the stability of our rent. 1 MOTION Moved, seconded, and voted that a Person©l Committee scrutinize salary levels for FY 81 for Coordinator and Assist Coord.(111) °" "'"i ' 9' �B i.#; LEXINGTON COUNCIL ON AGING Minutes of Meeting on Oct. 10 MOTION Moved, seconded, and voted with one abstension that Asst. to Coordinator work 24 hours per week as of now. Announcements Shirley Goodwin is the new Chairman of the Board of the MinuteMan Home Care. Ann Jackson will be leaving in November New Business : Goodwin announced that John Paul Morosy is the new Director of NMHC The Adult Day Care Center will be opening shortly at the Grey Nuns. The concept of Share-A-Van is temporarily shelved. Weinstein is concerned that a shelter be established by the Town for emergency needs for citizens in crisis situations. . There is a need for a Memorandum of Understanding from the Town Manager' s Office concerning the heat and energy situation.
