MINUTES OF THE COUNCIL ON AGING MEETING
on March 14, 1979

The meeting was called to order at 7 p m
MOTION Moved, seconded, and passed unanimously that the Minutes of the
February 14 meeting, as mailed to members, be accepted
J Carlson presented his report on Expenses through February 28, 1979 It
was pointed out that the grant for the Elder Chorus had been sent to the
Town, and that the next report would reflect that fact
MOTION Moved, seconded, and passed unanimously that the Treasurer ' s
Report be accepted as presented
Coordinator's Report and other Staff Reports (see attached)
MOTION Moved, seconded, and passed unanimously that a plant be sent
to our Senior Aide, Connie Stohn, whose daughter was in the hospital
Recreation/Leisure Report B Luckman reported on the trips planned for the
rest of the year, amount expended by Senior Citizens Club, and the dif-
ficulty of fair distribution of tickets for their events After considerable
discussion, the following motion was made
MOTION Moved, seconded, and passed unanimously that a small sub-group
be appointed to clarify some of the questions of the Rec/Leisure
Committee
Liability Insurance A question came from S Clark concerning insurance
for people who drive for the CoA W Sen will check this out
Home Care Corporation S Goodwin reported briefly on the activities of
the Home Care Corporation and passed out material, "Update on MHCC Services
to Lexington Residents - February, 1979 "
Share-A-Home, Share-A-Life, Inc J Clark discussed the activities of this
group and passed out an Information Sheet on Congregate Housing A grant
has been received from MHCC to carry on its activities; however, it is
important to find ways of funding this group A suggestion was made that
the Federal Cooperative Association might be investigated, where shares
are taken out, then paid back
Chairman' s Report It is hoped that many people will attend a health
lecture at St Brigid' s Church, a project of Mt Auburn Hospital and
Tri-Community Health Services
A Senior Site Committee meeting is scheduled for March 20 - some
problems have arisen on funding to explore the possibility of Munroe School
as a senior site JS MpgN�
It was decided to hold the next CoA meeting on Thursday, opo we 60
- April 12, as some CoA members must be at Town Meeting Wednesdays it
