ROoey, J Stumpp
Observer D Williams (LWV)
1. The meeting was called to order at 9 15 A.M by Ch. Jane Stumpp.
2. Mrs. Stumpp distributed copies of the CoA budget for FY77 as amend-
ed by the Town Manager After due consideration, the Council mem-
bers agreed that the amended budget did not represent the Council's
plans, intentions, or needs accurately. The attached notes appear
to indicate a complete misunderstanding on the part of the Town
Manager of the duties and functions of a Council of Aging They
also contain several factual errors. The Coati agreed that it
would be impossible to go before the Appropriations Committee on
Monday evening without time to prepare a rebuttal on the budget and
to organize the facts to support our position.
Mrs Stumpp will call the Town Manager on Monday to inform him of
the Council ' s position, and will also bring to the regular meeting
on Tuesday a draft of a letter explaining the Council's position.
3. It was noted that the typewriter in the second-floor office of the
Visitors' Center, which the Council had been told it could use, had
disappeared. There also appeared to be confusion on the part of the
Chamber of Commerce about the CoA's right to use the Visitors' Cen-
ter Mr. Rooney will investigate and try to settle this matter.
4. The meeting adjourned at 11 20 A.M. .
Respectfully submitted,
a,,
