1 The meeting was called to order at 7 35 P.M by Ch. Jane Stumpp
There was a correction in the minutes the budget allocation for
Home Care in FY77 to read $2 ,500 , not $3,000, after which the min-
utes were approved as distributed,
2. Mrs. Williams presented copies of a first draft of the newsletter
Several minor changes were suggested, and the draft was approved
Mrs. Williams and Mrs. Paranya agreed to check out printing costs
with several private firms and to get a firm estimate from Minute-
Man Regional Vocational on the basis of a preliminary draft. Mrs.
Stumpp also volunteered printing rates from Idea Consultants in
Quincy, Mass.
3 The computer listings of senior citizens having arrived, Mrs.Glen-
non and Mrs Williams presented corrected lists from which the
names of all residents who had died during 1975 had been deleted.
The corrected list includes 4,297 persons over the age of 60.
Mrs Stumpp offered to take a list and bracket the names of couples
in order to reduce the actual mailing list.
4, Mrs. Stumpp read a copy of the letter sent by Mr. O'Connell to the
Dept. of Elder Affairs accepting the grant , but asking for clari-
fication
on the grant conditions. A reply from the State has not
yet been received.
5. Mrs, Stumpp reported that she had taken the CoA budget to Phyllis
Smith and had gone over it with her. There were questions about the
amounts requested for certain items. The CoA will be asked to meet
with the Appropriations Committee to discuss the budget. Further
budget discussion dealt with items which might be reduced Home
Care will probably be less than budgeted; there may be ways to re-
duce circulation costs for the newsletter. It was also pointed out
that the $2 ,500 for bus trips was not new money, but merely a trans-
fer from the Recreation Dept. budget
6. Mrs.Stumpp reported that the Visitors' Center office is being
cleared for CoA use The telephone cannot be tied in with the town
switchboard. Mrs. Stumpp will arrange with Phyllis Smith to have
our phone installed. It was decided that contiguous service would
be adequate Mrs. Stumpp will also inquire about the typewriter
and a key to the Visitors' Center.
7. It was agreed to postpone discussion of the qualifications for a
Co-ordinator until the next meeting.
8. The next meeting was set for February 10 , at 7 30, Visitors'Center,
9. The meeting adjourned at 9: 30 P.M. Respectfully submitted,
