The meeting was convened at 4: 06 p m. by Chairman Jane Stumpp. 2. It was moved, seconded, and voted to accept the minutes for Sep- tember 23, 1975 as distributed. 3 Mr. William Melbye, Resident of the Senior Citizens Club presented the Club's budget for fiscal 1976, as follows 1975 Sept. No budget $000.00 Oct. 23 Foliage trip 495. 00 Nov. 20 Mystery ride 515.00 1976 April 27 Movie, Boston $219.00 May 20 Apple Blossom 625.00 June 24 No. Shore - Wentworth 61500 $ 2,49. 00 Money for these expenses is to come from funds appropriated to the Recreation Department for the use of the elderly. The question was raised as to whether or not members of the Senior Citizens Club could pay at least part of the cost of bus transpor- tation. Mr. Melbye felt they could not. It was moved, seconded, and voted that the Senior Citizens Club budget be accepted as presented. The secretary was directed to inform Mr. Ben Bertini, Director of Recreation of the Council's action. 4. Old business Mrs. Stumpp distributed copies of newsletters received from Arling- ton and Winchester, Mrs. Jackson questioned the validity of the transportation section of the Elderly Survey. The process of random sampling was explained. 5 New business Mrs. Stumpp presented sheets explaining the LHS Community Volunteer Program coordinated by Winifred Friedman. There was discussion about involvement in the program but no action was taken. A New business, cont. Rev. Goodwin suggested that we take immediate steps to find out about funding possibilities from the State that might assist the CoA. Rev. Goodwin also suggested that the CoA give serious consideration to having Lexington support the Home Care Corporation in our area. The question of hiring a coordinator was raised. There is a need to have one person who will handle the Council's business and implement policies and programs. It was agreed that a first step should be to write a job description for a coordinator. To help us in this task it was decided that other towns be consulted about a coordinator's duties. Jane Stumpp will contact Newton; Merion Ritter, Concord; and Ann Paran- ya, Winchester. 6. The date of the next meeting was set for Tuesday, October 28, 1975 at 4 00 p.m. Mrs. Glennon will arrange for the use of Room G -15. 7.
