Christine Yedica will be the one liaison to the COA. Meeting - — 1 Introductions were made. 2. Laura and Becket presented RePlace '99 Annual Report: a. Elementary school services—higher March statistics b Discussion of projected vs. real service hours I,.,tease-in outreach counseling_— d. Discussion of crisis intervention and suicidality—clients receiving RePlace services not related to at-large school response team—unsure of schools' procedure and structure; various crisis responses through private pay clients, school contract, and Domestic Violence Response Team e. Committee members complimented RePlace on the clarity of its FY '99 report and its relationship with the police. 3 Cathy Abbott invited Committee members and RePlace to attend Rep Kaufman s Nov 18 meeting on Families and the Law 4 Liaison reports a. Roz reported on DVRT meeting. October is Domestic Violence month. b Roz reported on the Support Committee for Battered Women: emergency shelter, legal support program/counseling, advocate/Senior Services/Hotline. Helen inquired re Food Pantry contribution. c. Khalil shared agenda of most recent HPAC meeting. Helen asked for clarification of schools programs for preventing student smoking on campus. d. Nancy Bartlett will not be able to attend preschool group meetings due to childcare conflict. Preschool PTA has website. Cathy Abbott who is Jay Kaufman's representative to the Preschool group (Jan. next meeting) gave an overview of the State budget process. 2 5 RePlace: Eva Glick asked if the Town would go out to bid on RePlace in FY '00 Helen Cravis asked Committee members to review RePlace annual report for discussion at the November meeting, also review suggestions for needed services—to be included in the Human Services Committee annual report to the Selectmen. 6 The Committee would like to hear community ideas on needs. For example, talk to Chief Casey or a representative of the Police Department. 4
