Present: Nancy Bartlett; Barbara Ciampa; Helen Cravis; Roz Gittleman; Eva Glick;
Khalil Khatri, M.D Gregory Kotonias-Payne, M.D Christine Yedica,
Nancy Freed, Director, Social Services Department; Tom Blumenthal,
visitor; Steve Baran, Staff and Human Services Coordinator;
Absent: Cathy Abbott, Selectmen Liaison
1 Name of Fair Housing and Human Relations Committee creates confusion for
some with Human Services Committee leading possibly to Betty Eddison s
question to Human Services Committee Chair, Barbara Ciampa, as to what the
Human Services Committee was doing about affirmative action.
2. Khalil Khatri and Gregory Kotonias-Payne to be listed with M.D titles.
3 RePlace to be on agenda for next meeting. They are in last year of a three-year
cycle with respect to possibility of Town Manager electing to initiate a Request
for Proposal process. To be addressed at meeting: review of performance, goals,
expectations and does the town wish to continue its relationship with RePlace.
Does the Town wish to recommend maintaining RePlace at the same level of
appropriation when there may be other needs to be considered, e.g., education for
parents ofchallenged preschoolers? —

5 Jodi Wilensky Hill, M.ED of Parenting Resource Associates reviewed what her
program was doing for Lexington's parents of challenged preschoolers and the
program's needs for funding.
6 Tom Blumenthal was introduced and spoke about his background and reasons to
be interested in becoming a Committee member
