Nancy discussed bank building in Depot Square as a possible site for a Youth Drop-In Center 3. Roz Gittleman reported on the COA Women's Conference and upcoming Battered Women's Benefit Conference. 4 Barbara Ciampa reported on the LexFest! Blues Benefit Concert. 5. Barbara reported on a meeting of the Early Childhood Education Committee in which there was a discussion of all day kindergarten for Lexington. 6. RePlace report in response to questions contained in meeting minutes of 2/3/99: - a. Becket Rhodes had a baby girl, Rachel Ann, 7-lb. 6 oz. b. Recent article in Minuteman on the Domestic Violence Response Team. c. Lower number of crisis calls due to previous clients now stabilized and teen crisis calls more often coming through the Domestic Violence Response Team. d. See March 3, 1998 RePlace handout clarifying that their peer leaders are supervised by RePlace staff. The peer leaders do tutoring, not peer counseling. The Committee agreed to have peer leaders come to a future Human Services Committee meeting. e. Wayside has made a commitment to RePlace to fund office space if no in-kind free space is located — Laura stated that the goal is now to look at rental space, e.g., above camera shop. Could RePlace rent (or use in kind)town space for offices described in hand out? 2 An interim space plan may be developed. Laura Kurman is waiting to hear if some smaller interim space would be available in the church. f Laura Kurman discussed RePlace work at the high school: Jodie Williams is responsible for school grant (case management— continuing funding); RePlace active with ACE/PLACE student counseling. 7 Barbara Ciampa reported on the successful diversity tea held at the Senior Center and thanked Roz Gittleman and Christine Gelling, Senior Center Pogrom Coordinator, for their help. The next tea is scheduled for March 19 with Khalil Khatri's family 8. Get-together of present and former Human Services Committee members — April 20 at Barbara's home.
