Minutes of 8/5/98 approved. 2. Nancy Bartlett expressed her interest in the Committee. After having her second child, she has wanted to be more involved,attended Curry College and has an MBA from B.U. 3. Further liaison assignments—Kathleen Palmer is from the PreSchool PTA,acting as liaison to the Human Services Committee;Helen Cravis is liaison to all youth organizations including RePlace; Eva Glick is interested in acting as a second liaison to the COA,Rick Safford is resigning from the Human Services Committee,but he will be liaison from the Enablement Committee to the Human Services Committee. 4 Vacancies there are three.The Committee is interested in diversity,will send letter to LexFest! participants. Appropriate wording was discussed. 5 Kathleen Palmer discussed availability of funding from the PreSchool PTA for scholarships in this and future years. A committee will craft screening criteria. 6. Nancy Freed reported on the Social Services Department which is concerned 75%with COA concerns and 25%with human services concerns.Team building and defining goals and objectives have been emphasized of late.There was interest in whether growth of availability of scholarship money for categories other than college-bound youth might mean scholarships for uses of the COA day care. 7 Next meeting is Oct. 7 when candidate interviews will take place.
