Minutes of 11/4/92
The Minutes of 11 /4/92 were approved
Co-Chair Report
Progress was reported on producing a brochure for the Human
Services Emergency Fund
Coordinator Report
Battered Women
Steve reported that the Support Committee for Battered
Women had carried out training for Department Heads and
Supervisors The training was very well received (_ )
Rick White had requested that the training be extended
to all Town employees
Americans with Disabilities Act
An ADA plan for the Town has been going through various
drafts Steve will be sharing the draft with the Human
Services Committee
FY '94 Human Services Budget
Steve reported on the status and predictions concerning
the Town' s budget (see attachment) The Human Services
Committee is expected to submit its budget
recommendations to the Board of Selectmen on Wednesday,
January 13
Met State
Steve reported on the process going forward to
determine how Met State site should be used in the
future ( see attachment)
RePlace
Questions were raised by Ruthie concerning RePlace utilization U
and its compliance with reporting requirements

Special Needs Housing
Rick saw the need for renewed emphasis on special needs housing ;
some parents of special needs adult children have taken separate
individual initiatives to secure housing for their children
Town agency analysis
Ruthie requested clarification on what the Committee had in mind
in requesting an analysis of Town agencies from Eva Havas and
herself Ann suggested that there be a review of the Town
Manager Act and consideration of resources in the light of
emerging human services issues
Council on Aging
Donna reported that the Council on Aging was planning a spring
forum on need as well as conducting a survey on need
New Business
There was a discussion on the Committee' s plans to create greater
accessibility for the hard-of-hearing in the Town
Toy Drive
Ruthie announced a toy drive being conducted for children with
HIV/AIDS by the Caitlin Trust
