Minutes
The Minutes of 3/ 15/81 were approved
Coordinator ' s Report
Steve reported on his plans to seek students to carry out a needs
assessment He is getting in touch with three schools of social
work and the Kennedy School in order to locate a team for next
fall Heller School students did not choose to carry out an
assignment in Lexington this spring
An AIDS Committee constituted by the Board of Health is drafting
a eport to the Board The report will recommend that approaches
be sought to improve communication between parents and children
on sexual topics and that there be an educational campaign on the
subject of AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases It is not yet
clear if the AIDS Committee will recommend distribution of
condoms in the context uf an educational campaign
The e will be a meeting on May 9th for representatives of Parents
with Special Needs and Enablement Committees for the purpose of
seeking formalized status as a subcommittee of the Human Services
Committee
Renee added to the report by noting that a new residential
program fur special needs adults from Lexington had been appro ed
uy LexHab Committee members commended Renee for her excellent
letter to LexHab arguing for the establishment of the program
Activities of the Committee
Renee asked members to comment on Committee process There was
considerable sentiment that the Committee meet less often with a
more focused agenda It was therefore agreed that henceforth the
uommittee would meet on the first Wednesday of every month
Ste` e will ',mange to have a notice inserted in the Minute-man
to/ the purpose uf recruiting new members A meeting will take
place in July for the purpose of shaping goals for FY ' 92

Special Needs Recreation
In the light of concerns raised by the Go-Chairmen of the
Lexington Special Needs Parents ' Advisory Committee about
ceoreat ]on for special needs young people living in Lexingtun, it
was agreed to arrange a meeting The meeting would include
representatives of the Parents ' Committee , the Recreation
Committee and the Human Services Committee and take place on
Wednesday evening, June 5 at 7 30 p m
Review of Bid Packages
Dick Dougherty recommended acceptance of the RePlace bid with a
$43 per interview hourly rate, funding up to * 13 . 808 for
counseling, 3 sessions per client serving 130 individuals A
system should be adopted for numbering clients for purposes of
_7ouf1dextia ( ity and then billing retruspectively in relation to
the numbers
Bob Cushman recommended acceptance of the CMARC bid
