Lexington is not showing but you can print the one-page survey and email it.

reminded members to sign up for coverage if they haven’t already.
Ongoing Business
Route 8/Concord Ave Land Management Plan – The first field walk and office
meeting with the LMP contractor town will be April 16. Keith, Eileen and Stephen
will attend.
Proposed Route 22/Solomon Pierce connector – Keith, Bob, Mike, Yifang and
Stephen conducted a field walk on March 30, from Arlington’s Great Meadow to
Lower Vinebrook via Solomon Pierce, Butterfield, Joseph Comee, Woburn and
Webb Streets, noting locations for signage. Mike will connect with the Friends of
Arlington’s Great Meadow regarding routing the path on AGM property parallel to
the Emerson Garden driveway. This will be designated as Route “I”.
Route 9 – Bob will propose dates for work when the weather is favorable. This
will be designated as Route “O”.
Review Destination Sign Project – The committee continued the discussion
viewing Keith’s most recent spreadsheet. As to whether schools should be some
of the destinations, it was suggested that Bobak bring the question to the Safe
Routes to School committee. The committee agreed to use the Visitor Center as
the “center” of town and overall agreement to keep moving forward with the
project. The locations need to be field checked to determine how many signs are
needed at the directions (R, L, 45 degrees) needed for each sign. Keith
welcomed members to share in the field work. He will send a shared spreadsheet
for entering relevant information. Mike will work on the distances portion. We
agreed to aim to make final decisions on locations/directions by the June
meeting.
th
250 Celebration - The committee brainstormed some things we might consider
as the GCC’s contribution to the year-long celebration:
- Mark the date when the first route was opened
- Mark locations where Minutemen’s houses were along ACROSS routes.
Perhaps in cooperation with the Historical Society.
- Complete Route F loop in a way that connects the Visitor Center to the
start of the Battle Road in Minuteman National Historic Park
Discussion to be continued.
New Business
Waterstone Connection
We briefly discussed joining a stub from Waterstone to “Concept 3” – A route that
would follow Watertown St NW to Bowman Park and then SW along Pleasant St,
where it would connect to Route O. Discussion to be continued.
The meeting adjourned at 5:32 pm.
Next Meeting scheduled for 4-5.30 pm, May 9, in the Parker Room in the Town
Officer Building.
Future Meeting Dates: June 13, Sept 12, Oct 10, Nov 14, Dec 12
