Route 8/Concord Ave Land Management Plan — Keith, Eileen, Mike and
Stephen participated in a field walk and then office meeting (without Mike) with
the LMP contractor and Conservation staff on April 16 The contractor hopes to
be done by the end of August. There will be two public meetings Peggy to get
the need for a Concord Ave crosswalk (hopefully with a flashing beacon) on the
agenda of the Transportation Safety Group Still no funding solution for boundary
survey
Proposed Route 22/Solomon Pierce connector— Route I — Mike has been in
touch with Friends of Arlington Great Meadow about routing the path over
Arlington property parallel to Emerson Gardens driveway from Maple St to the
AGM entrance Mike will prepare presentation materials for the Friends for future
check-in with the Arlington Select Board and Conservation Committee Agreed
that it is preferable to connect Routes L and C through Joyce Miller's Meadow,
rather than continuing to use the Bikeway Need to let Conservation know this
Let Keith know if you can cover any needed coordination over the summer
Route 0 (nee Rt 9) — Bob will propose dates for work when the weather is
favorable (Posts were installed 5/13)
Waterstone Connection -We discussed old "Concept 3" —A route that would
link Route K to Route 0 following Peacock Farm Rd, Watertown St, Crescent Rd
and Green Lane to Bowman Park and then SW along Pleasant St to Phillip Rd
Bowman Park is not Conservation property, so coordination with other town
departments will be required Keith will coordinate any meetings in May Stephen
will cover any meetings that might arise over the summer Green Lane is likely a
private way/unaccepted street and some discussion with abutters/owners will be
needed Keith will check in with Laurel Carpenter who is one of the abutters
Peggy noted that there are plans for a round-about at the Pleasant St/Watertown
St intersection that may slow us down
Fairland Street Connection update — The developer has no timetable for when
or whether this connection to Lincoln St will happen
Review Destination Sign Project—The committee continued the discussion
viewing Keith's most recent spreadsheet. The committee agreed to use the
summer to field verify the spreadsheet data Keith will resend a shared
spreadsheet for entering relevant information Mike will work on the distances
portion We agreed to make final decisions when we resume meeting in the fall
250th Celebration - The committee discussed the merits of creating a link from
the Battle Green to Minuteman National Historic Park along Mass Ave Peggy will
contact Susy Barry/Doug Lucente to see if the 250th committee has any plans
along these lines and offer the GCC's assistance She will also contact Richard
Canale of the Battle Road Committee to see what plans they might have
