Lincoln Park Committee Meeting Minutes
April 9, 2024
Attending: Brian Kelley, Joanne Shorter, Bob Pressman, Cristina Burwell
Meeting commenced at 530pm at Lincoln Park
Park is in good condition and Barnard and Parterre will continue maintenance
work
Priority is to keep maintenance work to close to $50k or under. Minimum capital
projects needed in the park but revitalizing granite forest may be a priority
Fitness station funding for Rec Capital planning voted unanimously 4-0 to
approve up to $40,000 to support the project only if at least a portion of the new
fitness stations are within the current Roberta and Teresa Lee Fitness and
Nature Path
Boardwalk is in disrepair. Needs major repair/replacement of surface. Priority
on timing. There is 1000 feet of 6 foot wide composite boardwalk and should be
upgraded to 2x6 pressure treated wood. Brian will try to pull a plan together for
Summer 2024
David Williams recognition. Would like to recognize David’s significant
dedication to Lincoln Park since the 1980s. Possible memorializing the Granite
Forest for David but Brian will check with the family to see what is appropriate.
Unanimous 4-0 to vote in favor of Granite Forest memorial IF and only if the
family deems it appropriate. Possible dedication ceremony in 2025
Adjourn 630pm
Respectfully Submitted
Brian Kelley, Lincoln Park Committee Chair
