1 Definition of situation
Th, Co,.,.. irt felt that defining ' tuci i- r_ ` s admission of
na Sina a biopic, s .Spic ior Of t ider s being under t.. e
influ_nce or having evidence of us as a law enforcement
issue creates a chilling effect magina it difficult to
involve the student in treatmen
Stud_ behavior n these categories gay often be a
-ranif ,sration of a. ,_nderlyinc emotional family or
( social problem wne' eas the general punitive thrust of
J the policy tends to imply that it is the student who is
totally at fault
Thus where a student voluntarily confides a problem to
a staff or fac ity member, the lac of confidentiality
will serve to prevent any confiden es being shared in
the first place
The Committee believed that it is clearly within the
School s province to address these issues but it is
not clear why the police are involved when no law has
been broken
2 Legal issues
The committee had question about ketal aspects such as
initiating CHINS or care and custody when parents fall
to cooperate Even if the Town is a tinct within the
law the Committee as concerned ahc,;t the implications
of resorting to such an extreme type of proceeding
which has a legal or quasi-legal character
3 Advice and participation
The Committee was concerned that around an issue where
f i there is a great deal of coodination with human
J services required no prior involvement of the

Senior Health N )ni or Committee
Renee Cochin reported that the Senior Health Monitor Committee
was making progress At the moment it was involved in getting
cost data and finalizing who belonged in the program Ce g
degrees of frailty) It was evident no that the original
deadline of StoLember 30 for finalizing plans was unrealistic
The program will be phased in beginning 10/ 1 when a group of
providers wili begin meeting regularly
Data reviewed btr the Committee Droved to be insufficiently
precise A new data base will be collected permitting analysis
of dara C0711101-, to ail ts-,e participants
Respectfully Submitted
