Corrections to Minutes of 9/22/86
Spelling for Coordinator, Mystic Valley DMH, is Michelle ANZALDI Marion Shepp
was not present.
Second draft of report on June 19th Hearing to Selectmen
1. Page 4 change physically handicapped to handicapped in need of public trans-
portation
2 Five categories were advanced as requiring priority, not six (chronically ill)
3. "Finding" should be substituted for "Need"
4. It is agreeable not to elaborate on action plan for recreation and transportation
categories since these have their own Town committees
5 Remove remarks relating to METCO since this finding was not brought up during
the testimony
( 6 Develop outline to show a. findings b what others are doing to respond; c
what Human Services Committee is doing to respond.
7 In course of discussion pertaining to youth mention recommendations for health
clinic.
8. Substitute for examples of Human Services Coordinator's experience with need
those advanced during the testimony Place example prior to findings and
response (see item 6)
9 Remove quote from Bertha Reynolds since mention of listaing and sharing of
experiences sounds too passive
10 At top of page 4 mention Parents' Commitee for Special Neads
11. On page 2 proper name of youth survey group is "ad hoc" youth survey
12 The Human Services Committee's response to the youth survey at present is in
the form of "offering consultation"
It was agreed to send a copy of the report to all who testified or gave written
testimony
Process to Recruit New Members
Notice of Committee's desire to recruit new volunteers to appear shortly in the
Minute-man. Individual referred by Jack Eddison to be considered along with
other applicants There will be an interview process Members suggested that

an effort be made to recruit individuals from the following backgrounds minority,
handicapped, medical.

Leo McSweeney to be invited to appear before Human Services Committee at some point
in the future Next time there will be discussion of the RFP review process
(RFPs' are due October 201
Hospice Bill
Request was made to determine if Hospice sent bills for all payments due
Youth Survey
There has been some concern that youth survey seems to be be a closed process
A number of questions remain to be answered.* Committee members felt they could
not make any judgments until proposal and other materials were reviewed. Steve
reported list of questions from Judy Zabin and Jack Eddison's comment that Select-
men are awaiting report from the Human Services Committee before making a decision
about sponsoring the survey
