in crisis women with alcohol problems, and adolescents were the greatest clinical
issues
They have a three year contract with DMH that is renewed on an annual basis and
covers all costs There is no charge to clients They are currently busy but not
overloaded If the need increased they would want to hire more clinicians, and would
try to renegotiate with DMH

Minutes
The minutes of the meeting of January 23 were approved as mailed
Mental Retardation
Marion distributed a press release noting the passage of a bill that expands
Chapter 766 services to those over the age of 22 There is little information as
to the implications and procedures involved in this Bea will research It may
include the creation of a transitional planning bureau which will refer to the "most
appropriate services , which might include housing, transportation, medical care
and vocational services
Bea summarized the meetings of her ad hoc MR group They have decided to explore
the possiblity of planning for recreation and housing services The first step is
a needs assessment (Phe first draft is attached for your insights) The group will
consider getting a student intern to coordinate recreation planning
Marion reported that she had attended meetings of the Lexington Friends Community
Residence and the Concord Association for Retarded Citizens Both meetings addressed
the issue of formation of new community residences Marion is convinced that the
State must be involved, perhaps through Mystic Valley Mental Health Center, because
long-term funding support cannot be expected from parents
Marion has several names of people interested in working on developing housing
Steve suggested she contact Charlotte Alterson, both as a parent and as a Mystic
Valley Board member
