Minutes
The minutes of the meeting of January 9 were approved as mailed
Sing Along Chorus
Bea reported that it was her understanding that the current sing-along program was
included in the Recreation budget however the expanded program for older people
was in their 'wish list' It was decided that Steve would mention the Human Services
Committee's support for this program in the presentation this evening
Charitable Trusts
Bea reported that there are now 11 Lifeline units in Lexington She also reported
that the Adult Day care is spending its funding on several clients
There was discussion about havinga meeting with the Trustees or sending a delegate
to talk with them about possible renewing of funding or going out for additional
ideas The initial proposal requests had said 'bne-time innovative programs , but
it is now too late to move any of these programs into the regular channels, and
if it is decided to renew funding, it would have to be through the Trusts There
might also be other trusts that could be used This will be discussed at the next
meeting
Policy
Steve raised the issue about possible reexamination of the Town's policy in light
of changing demographics and changing times Judy feels that the Mystic Valley
program cannot really be called prevention. Stan offered to distribute several
journal articles that discuss the issue of whether 'prevention works Steve
also pointed out that the policy requires 'planning' but feels the committee
does not do much planning The Policy will be discussed at the next meeting
Cable TV
Bea interviewed Nancy Schock on tape last week in a discussion about living with
physical disability It will be edited and aired next month
Steve is looking forward to doing the program on adult day care and also would
like to do one with Mystic Valley Bea had thought Mystic Valley might be
interested in one of the following topics early intervention, alternative
homes or living with elderly parents Steve is also considering parental stress
with the Preschool PTA.

were identified for each of us
