The Committee went over the parade roster and parade route with the Chief
Marshal
The Committee discussed Mr Ellis ' request asking that the Vietnam Veterans
Against The War participate in our Memorial Day activities The Committee
does not invite people outside LEXINGTON to join our parade, as a general
rule, as it is a small parade fbr townfolks only
Also, Mr John Cary who is running for Brad Morse's seat in the House of
Representatives wants to march in our parade, and Mr Barnes will inform him
that because this is a small parade with no political overtones the parade
personnel would be restricted basically to townfolks only
The Committee discussed at length alternate parade routes for the 1975 parade
and other pertinent matters
The Committee feels it needs a clear picture of what its responsibilities are
for Patriots Day 1975, with duties outlined in writing from which our Committee
can work Mr Barnes will contact Mr Howard, Bi-Centennial Committee Chairman,
as ask that he spell out our duties clearly and in writing
Respectfully submitted,
