PATRIOTS DAY
The Lexington Minute Men presented the Committee with three plans
proposed for their re-enactment of the Battle of Lexington which will take
place at 2 P M on the Green on Sunday, April 16th Approaches and retreats
were discussed, and all present seemed to agree on their Plan B Mr
Gaughan said the Committee would need a finalized plan at least one week
before the re-enactment Capt Lima estimated that 20 policemen would be
required to take care of traffic and crowd control
Mr Gaughan will call Hanscom Base regarding using their public address
equipment and men to run it He will check into having it available for
the re-enactment as well as on Patriots Day, and will then report back
to Mr Edgar his results
Col Zeoli presented the Committee with a letter of inquiry from the Ancient
and Honorable Artillery Company of Massachusetts They have a band which
they wish to have march with them, at no expense to the Committee Mrs
Litchfield will write to them reporting that the Minute Men will be in touch
with them very soon
Messrs Bagosian and Bornstein inquired as to having their Aleppo groups
in our afternoon parade, namely their Motor Patrol (11 motorized cars)
(6 of which have tow bars to prevent any breakdown delays), a Clown Patrol
and Arab Marching Patrol and a Brass Band The Committee agreed these
groups sound most appealing, and voted to offer $300 00 for the four
groups, with the Brass Band to be forfeited should the money not be enough
to cover all four groups
Parade participation invitations are now closed - we have reached our
financial quota - there will be no new acceptances of groups, unless they
are acceptable to the Committee and are free of charge
The Check List was gone over thoroughly, and expenses pretty well lined up
The invitations to dignitaries will now go out inviting said dignitaries
to march with the staff in the afternoon parade The scarcity of
convertibles will be noted on the invitations

The Lions Club asked if they might enter their White Tricorn Hat float
in the Sunrise Parade as well as in the afternoon parade They want it to
parade up the avenue and onto the Green where it would be in evidence
when the White Tricorn Hat recipient is announced during the program
following the Sunrise Parade The Committee was in agreement that this
would be an appropriate touch to the ceremony of awarding the White
Tricorn Hat
Respectfully submitted,
