TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE
September 23, 1971
PRESENT Chmn Barnes, Mrs Litchfield, Mr Lord, Mr Fenske and
Mrs Hall
VISITOR Commander William G Collins, Veterans of Foreign Wars
VETERANS DAY (October 25th)
Commander Collins will act as Chief Marshal for our Veterans Day
parade He will call Representative Cusack to see if the Representative
is accepting our invitation to be Speaker of the Day If he cannot
accept, Commander Collins will so inform Mrs Litchfield, and she will
contact Mary Farris at the Base Office for speaker suggestions
All Youth groups in Lexington have been invited to march, and we await
word of their acceptances or refusals The High School Band has already
accepted
Mrs Litchfield will contact the Minute-Men and the American Legion
inviting them to participate in our day's activities
The Committee will meet again on Thursday, October 7th at 7 30pm in
Cary Hall, at which time Commander Collins will have the names of his
Aides for us The parade roster will be finalized at that time
