PRESENT Chmn. Barnes, Vice Chmn Gaughan, Mrs Litchfield, Mr Lord, Mr Fenske,
Mr Fitzgerald, Mr Brenchick, and Mrs Hall
VISITOR. Mr Kingston L Howard, General Chairman, 200th Patriots Day Celebration
Committee for the Town of Lexington
VETERANS DAY
Veterans Day will take place on Monday, October 25th this year We will have the
usual parade and Green program following the parade Plans will be formalized
with the Veterans of Foreign Wars representatives at our next T C C meeting on
Thursday evening, September 23rd at 7 30pm in Cary Memorial Hall Mrs Litchfield
will contact the V F W and ask that they send representatives to that meeting
She will also write to the National Guard and the High School Band inviting both
groups to march in our parade She will call members of the Lexington clergy to
participate in our Veterans Day program
Mrs Reed and Mrs Hall will contact representatives of all Lexington Youth groups
inviting them to participate in our parade on October 25th Mrs Litchfield will
write to Representative Cusack asking that he be our Speaker of the Day on Veterans
Day
Because of high collation expenses paid by our committee, we made, seconded, and
passed a motion that the V F W will be limited to $50 00 for the collation they
sponsor following the Veterans Day parade
MEMORIAL DAY
The Committee received a letter through the Selectmen's office from a Mr Ellis
of Lexington asking that we consider inviting back next Memorial Day the Vietnam
Vets Against The War He gave his reasons, and the Committee discussed his letter
at length, and will acknowledge it
PATRIOTS DAY - 1975
Chairman King Howard visited with our Committee at approximately 8 30pm to
generally discuss tentative plans for Lexington 200th Patriots Day celebration
in 1975 Mr Barnes asked that Mr Howard's name be added to the list of
recipients of the T C C meeting minutes
Our next T C C meeting will be on September 23rd at 7 30pm in Cary Memorial Hall
