PATRIOTS DAY
The Committee has received the following acceptances to be our guests for the
day on April 19th
Maj Gen Timothy J Regan, Jr , Adj Gen Commonwealth of Massachusetts
Brig Gen William F McGonagle, USAF Ret
Brig Gen Albin F Irzyk, Commanding General , Fort Devens
Brig Gen Charles D Briggs, Jr , Commander, 94th M A W
Maj Gen Joseph J Cody, Jr , Commander, E S D
Maj Carroll S Shershun, Director of Information, E S D
The wives and aides of these officers have also accepted
The Athol High School Band and St Theresa's Drum and Bugle Corps have accepted
our invitation to march in the afternoon parade
The Methuen High School Cadet Corps and the Medfield Drill Team have been invited,
and will let us know shortly whether they will march with us
There is the possibility of the State Police Women's Association sending a
marching unit for our PM parade Also, the Peabody Jaycees are interested in
entering a flatbed trailer float with the winning soapbox derby car on it for
our afternoon parade
Chief Marshal Turner announced that the Boy Scouts will have a fine turnout of
marchers, possibly as many as 250!
Mr Gaughan announced that the Lexington Masons and Knights of Columbus plan a
joint marching unit for our PM parade He will give us more details on this in
the near future
Mrs Litchfield will invite the following groups to march in our afternoon parade
The Evangeletts (St John's Drill Team) , North Cambridge
St Mary's Drum and Bugle Corps, Cambridge
The Dukes and Duchesses of Marlboro and their Drill Team
The Suburban Sharpshooters Drum and Bugle Corps, Framingham
Mr Barnes will notify Mr Blanchard of the Stuart Highlanders that we cannot use his
bagpipe band this year, but will keep it in mind for next year Mrs Litchfield will
notify the I C Rockettes similarly
The Committee went over the Check List again, and various duties were assigned
