TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE
January 21 , 1971 PRESENT Chmn Barnes, Vice Chmn Gaughan, Mrs Litchfield, Mr Lord,
Mr Fenske, and Mrs Hall
PATRIOTS DAY
This year's Chief Marshal has been named He is Lt Edward W Turner,
U S A (Ret ) Lt Turner will be meeting with our committee from now
through our Patriots Day celebration on Thursday evenings The committee
is very pleased to have the opportunity to work with him
The parade theme this year is "Pride In Our Past--Faith In Our Future"
The committee will meet with the following groups as listed
Past Chief Marshals January 28th
Civic Organizations February 4th
Youth & Veterans Groups February Ilth
Fire, Police Personnel and the February 18th
Town Manager
The committee voted to authorize the Lexington Minute Men to spend up to
fifty dollars to help defray the cost of appropriate musical entertainment
in conjunction with their re-enactment performance on the Green This event
will take place on Sunday, April 18th, at 2 PM
Mrs Litchfield will invite the following groups to march in our parade
Methuen High School Cadet Corps
Medfield Drill Team
Wakefield High School Band
Wakefield High School Majorettes
All TCC members are asked to bring to all meetings last year's check lists
These will be needed for reference material
Mrs Litchfield and Mrs Hall will notify all Past Chief Marshals of the
upcoming meeting on Thursday, January 28th at 7 30 PM in the Bird Room
