HomeMy WebLinkAbout1970-04-16-TCC-min.pdf 418 TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE Airil 16, 1970 PRESENT Chmn Barnes, Vice Chmn Gaughan, Mr Broderick, Mrs Litchfield, Mrs Reed, Mr Lord and Mrs Hall Also Chief Marshal McNamara and Chief of Staff Turner VISITORS John Graham, American Legion Robert Cataldo, Chairman, Board of Selectmen Neil Cronin, Chamber of Commerce PATRIOTS DAY We have had acceptances from the following The Hon F Bradford Morse, US Representative from Massachusetts General and Mrs William T Burgoyne Vice Consul and Mrs Gerald Kent representing H M Consul General Lenore Storar The float judges are the following Fred C Bailey, Selectman Rev Harold T Handley, Church Of Our Redeemer C Alden Dolan, High School Teacher Chief Marshal McNamara is to tell William Fitzgerald, Marshal of our 5th Division, that the committee will allow him $100 00 if he wants to hire a drum band to 'beef up" his division MEMORIAL DAY Monday, May 25, 1970 The committee informed Mr Graham, representative from the American Legion, that we will need a Chief Marshal and his Staff for the Memorial Day parade Mr Graham is to ask the Legion if they care to make any changes in the parade roster or program on the Green following the parade Mrs Litchfield has already invited a marching unit from Hanscom Field to participate She will now invite a marching unit from the National Guard Armory to march with us MISCELLANEOUS Our next TCC meeting will be held on Thursday evening, April 30th, at 8 PM in the Selectmen's Office (No meeting this week! ) Mr Fenske and Mrs Hall would like to bring up the High School Band's lack of participation at our next meeting for discussion It is felt a con- structive solution can be arrived at, and suggestions to the band personnel , in writing, would be in order (This is in regard to the band's not marching in inclement weather) Respectfully submitted, Marilyn L Hall Recording Secretary
