TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE

PATRIOTS DAY We have had acceptances from the following
Brig Gen and Mrs Irzyk, Comm Gen at Fort Devens
Col Passales, Comm Off at Mass National Guard, Lexington
Miss Mary Farris, Pub Info Officer, E S D
Capt and Mrs Simonet, First Naval District -- for Adm Wylie
Sister City Program -- a maximum of 8 people representing this program
Mrs Litchfield will invite Brig Gen and Mrs Charles D Briggs, Comm Gen ,
94th M.A W to be our guests on the 20th
The following groups will enter a float in the afternoon parade, none of which
will be eligible for competition for the Chamber of Commerce awards
REPLACE Club of Hancock Church
Sister City Program (Lexington/Delores Hidalgo)
Lexington Lions Club
There will be a total of 15 floats in the afternoon parade
Mr Cronin announced there will be a picture of the trophies to be donated by
the Chamber of Commerce, along with a write-up in the Minute-Man next week
Mr Francis Belcastro has procured an open car to chauffer the veterans who are
to be our guests for the day from the V.A Hospital in Boston
Mr Gaughan has ordered enough tricorn hats not only for committee members, but
for the veterans of last year and this year's also
We still do not have a fifer for the Spirit of '76! !
USS LEXINGTON Mrs Litchfield has been asked to acquire a member of the three faiths
to be a part of the program on Sunday, May 3rd She will also write to the Lexington
Minute Men and ask that they participate in this program It will take place at 2 PM
Mr Broderick and Mr William Brenchick will be in charge of the color detail
Mrs Litchfield will ask the American Legion to send a representative to our next
meeting on Thursday, April 16th at 8 PM to go over plans for celebration of Memorial
Day this year This program would take place on Monday, May 25th, with a parade stepping
off from Munroe School at 10 AM, followed by a program on the Green
