HomeMy WebLinkAbout1970-03-05-TCC-min.pdf 414 TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE March 5, 1970 PRESENT Chmn Barnes, Mr Gaughan, Mrs Litchfield and Mr Lord Chief Marshal McNamara and Chief of Staff Turner PATRIOTS DAY Mrs Litchfield was asked to invite Linda's Rangerettes from Woburn to participate in our afternoon parade Mr Gaughan announced that Douglas Maxner cannot arrange for or be a part of the Spirit of '76 this year The matter of arranging for another Spirit of '76 is pending Mrs Litchfield was asked to write to Col Bagley, Commanding Officer of the 1st Battalion, 25th Marines, and ask them to march The Belfry Club reservation for our reception following the afternoon parade has been confirmed, and Mrs Moyle will cater that reception March 19, 1970 PRESENT Chrpn Barnes, Mr Gaughan, Mrs Litchfield, Mrs Reed, Mr Lord, Mr Fenske, Mr Broderick, and Mrs Hall Also Messrs McNamara and Turner PATRIOTS DAY We have had acceptances from the following Col Johnson and wife, Chief of Staff, ESD Col Farris and wife, Commander, 3245th Air Base Wing, Hanscom Col Kenney and wife, Vice Commander, ESD Col Flinders and wife, Commander, Air Force Cambridge Research Lab, Hanscom Brig Gen and Mrs McGonagle, Retired Rep and Mrs Khachadoorian, 7th Middlesex District 18th Army Band, Fort Devens 1st Naval District Band Regrets have been received from Admiral Wylie, Commandant, 1st Naval District and former Senator Leverett Saltonstall (for the moment) Possible acceptance 326th Air Force Band, Patrick Air Force Base, Florida Wilbur Hyatt will be the 1st Division Marshal , and Dick Michelson will be the 4th Division Marshal Mrs Litchfield will invite participation from St Theresa's Drill Team and the Logannaires from Somerville, a Drill Team We are holding invitations for the Citation Drum and Bugle Corps and the Annunciators Drum and Bugle Corps of Somerville Mr Gaughan will look into possibly inviting the Wilmington Crusaders and Swordsmen of the Wilmington VFW They number approximately 200 bodies Respectfully submitted, Marilyn L Hall Recording Secretary G I
