HomeMy WebLinkAbout1970-01-29-TCC-min.pdf 410 TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE January 29, 1970 rn PRESENT Vice Chmn Gaughan, Mrs Litchfield, Mrs Reed, Mr Lord, Mr Fenske, and Mrs Hall VISITOR Chief Marshal Francis B McNamara, Jr PATRIOTS DAY The committee formed the wording to appear on the plaque to be presented to Lawrence E Stone in appreciation of his many years of faithful service The plaque is to be signed by Robert Cataldo and Raymond Barnes The wording is as follows "Presented to Lawrence E Stone by the Town Celebrations Committee on behalf of the Town of Lexington in appreciation of his many years of dedicated and loyal service " Chief Marshal McNamara announced his Chief of Staff will be Lt Edward W Turner, USAR It was suggested that an article be put in the Minute-Man seeking private convertibles for use in our afternoon parade Convertibles have become difficult to obtain from the various car agencies This notice should be published closer to Patriots Day Our annual Float Participation Night date has been changed from Thursday, February 19th to Thursday, February 26th, and Mrs IIalI will send out appropriate notices to all parties involved The reasons for the change are ( I ) The 19th comes during school vacation when families are apt to be away (2) The League of Women Voters is having its annual Candidates Night on the 19th Mrs Reed and Mrs Hall will contact the Youth groups in town and the Veterans organizations to meet with the committee on February 5th at 8 PM in the Selectmen's Office Respectfully submitted, Marilyn L Hall Recording Secretary NOTE There will be NO MEETING of the Town Celebrations Committee on Thursday evening, February 19th
