HomeMy WebLinkAbout1969-10-02-TCC-min.pdf 404 TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE October 2, 1969 PRESENT Chmn Barnes Mr Gaughan, Mr Lord, Mr Broderick, Mr Fenske, Mr, Reed and Mrs Hall VISITORS Mr Frank Sherman, Commander; Mr George Whittier, Sr Vice Commander Mr William Hosford, Quartermaster, Lexington V F W Post VETERANS DAY Mr Frank Sherman will be our Parade Marshal He will announce his parade staff at a later date The V F W men are responsible for the color guard for the program on the Green following the parade The National Guard has been invited to march and will probably send a representation However, the march groups from Hanscom Field have already been asked for by Congressmen and are not available The Youth groups of Lexington have been contacted and invited to march, and we await their answers Mr Sherman did announce that he is arranging for a color guard from Hanscom Field Mr Hosford , Quartermaster, of the V F W , asked for a $100 00 increase in the collation allowance from this committee Commander Sherman also asked for an allowance of $250 00 for 1970's Veterans Day' collation The rising cost of collations was discussed by the committee and it was agreed something needs to be done to curb these rising costs No decisions or solutions were reached however Mrs Hall will contact Mr Sherman and Mr Hosford and ask that they be present at our next TCC meeting to be held on Thursday ovehing , October 23rd, al 8 PM in the Selectmen's office The Veterans Day roster will be finalized at that meeting Respectfully submitted, Marilyn hall Recording Secretary
