TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE
May 22, 1969

MEMORIAL DAY Father McCabe of Sacred Heart Parish will be our speaker of the day
Mr Cronin will attend to the wreath details
UNITED NATIONS DAY The Elks, Rotary and Jaycees clubs were asked to send
representatives to this meeting, but none appeared Only the League was represented
Mrs Uhrig reported that there will again be a Poster Contest, but the Essay Contest
is not definite at this time This is a forced chore for high school upperclassmen,
and the student resent it Mrs Uhrig will meet with school officials and with
Mr Barnes, Publicity Department for the Lexington Schools, to see if another
solution can be found Mrs Uhrig will order the fifty posters for our committee
at the same time she orders material for the League's distribution
Mrs Hall will write to the UN in New York returning the unpaid invoice which
is in error, since the material ordered never reached the committee, and explain
the situation as clearly as possible, so that this bill will be cancelled
PATRIOTS DAY Chief Marshal Zeoli read his suggestions for improving our Patriots
Day parade to the committee and said he would submit them in writing to the
committee He thanked the committee, and especially his Chief of Staff McNamara
Mr Barnes, in turn, thanked both gentlemen for a job well done
Mrs Litchfield has been authorized to pay our outstanding bills for Patriots
Day
MISCELLANEOUS There will be no more formal meetings of TCC until the first
Thursday after Labor Day That date is September 4, 1969, so please write it down
We will meet in the Selectmen's office at 8 PM Meanwhile, plans are underway for
our annual picnic which will be held at Jim Broderick's barn this year You will
be contacted in the near future
