HomeMy WebLinkAbout1969-04-10-TCC-min.pdf 398 TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE April 10, 1969 PRESENT Chmn Barnes, Mr Gaughan, Mr Belcastro, Mr Broderick, Mr Lord, Mrs Litchfield, Mrs Reed and Mrs Hall VISITORS Col Zeoli and Capt McNamara Mr Neil Cronin, Chamber of Commerce Mr Mel Hunt, American Legion Mr David Greeley and Mr Oberteuffer PATRIOTS DAY For the benefit of Messrs Greeley and Oberteuffer, Mr Broderick went over all the Float Rules and Regulations An involved discussion ensued concerning the pros and cons of the float these two gentlemen wish to enter in the afternoon parade It was finally resolved that their float would be entered with some alterations which were made clear to them at this meeting WBZ has had to cancel its plans to enter a float in the afternoon parade Mr Cronin brought the trophies for the winning civic and youth floats so that the committee could see them They are handsome There will be signs on the winning civic and youth floats so that the public will know of the honors Debbie Kelly is Lady Lexington this year and will ride on the Prom-manaders float with her escort, Richard Casey The Fiske Hill ceremony takes place this Saturday at 4 PM Please make every effort to attend Next week's meeting will be held in the Conference Room of Cary Hall PLEASE NOTE THIS CHANGE IN LOCATION Date April 17, 1969 Respectfully submitted, Marilyn Hall Recording Secretary The committee members present at Fiske Hill on Saturday already have their arm bands and are responsible for same through Patriots Day feastivities Lexington will be in charge of the arrangements for next year's Fiske Hill ceremony Mrs Litchfield will bring the remaining arm bands to our meeting on Thursday night, April 17th L_
