HomeMy WebLinkAbout1969-04-03-TCC-min.pdf 397 TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE April 3, 1969 PRESENT Chmn Barnes, Mr Gaughan, Mrs Litchfield, Mr Broderick, Mr Belcastro, Mrs Reed and Mrs Hall VISITORS Mr Sperduto Col Zeoli , Chief Marshal Capt McNamara, Chief of Staff Mrs Pennell , W I L P F --Lexington Branch; Donald Whitehead, Republican Town Committee Warren A Hawkins, Jr , Lexington V F W Post #3007; Joseph F Regan, Y A C , St Brigid's Parish Hank Miller and Jerry Stokes, Battle Green DeMolay; Mrs Uhrig, League of Women Voters; Mrs Smallman, Peggy Potter and Betsy Baylies, Girl Scouts Robert Saunders and James Edgar, Lexington Minute Men PATRIOTS DAY The Minute Men have invited approximately forty units to march in the 3rd division The confirmations are coming in slowly, but surely Both morning and afternoon rosters were thoroughly gone over by the committee with the Chief Marshal and Chief of Staff of the afternoon parade They will be finalized and typed this week The men from Fort Devens will be invited to partake of the V F W 's collation directly following the parade The TCC will pay the V F W one dollar per man toward collation expenses FISKE HILL CEREMONY The Fiske Hill ceremony will take place on Saturday afternoon, April 12th, at 4 PM The Board of Selectmen have been asked to attend this short ceremony Mr Barnes will contact Mr Ken Campbell of the Boy Scouts to finalize plans PROGRAM ON THE GREEN -- APRIL 20th -- SUNDAY The Lexington Minute Men will perform a colonial ceremony to begin the Sunday afternoon program on the Green It will start at approximately 130 PM The Linn Village Drum Band will follow the Minute Men, after which the High School Band will march onto the Green for the Patriotic Song Fest The Linn Village Drum Band will then conclude the afternoon's program with their final performance The Lexington Minute Men announced their annual Ball to be held at the Armory on Saturday evening May 3rd The TCC asked the Lexington Minute Men if they would be interested in taking charge of the Sunday program on the Green as part of our Patriots Day feastivities in the future The Minute Men will consider this offer and let us know if they want this responsibility in future years Respectfully submitted, Marilyn Hall Recording Secretary
