TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE
November 7, 1968
PRESENT Chmn Barnes, Mrs Litchfield, Mr Gaughan, Mr Belcastro,
Mr Lord, and Mrs Hall
VISITORS Lincoln P Cole, Jr , Chmn , Board of Selectmen
Warren Hawkins, Comdr , Veterans of Foreign Wars
VETERANS DAY Mr Belcastro will contact Mr Mazarrell of the Park
Department to set up the speakers stand with bunting
Mrs Litchfield will call Miss Farris at the Base and the
National Guard Armory to inform both marching units of the Veterans
of Foreign Wars' collation at the V F W Hall directly following the
parade
GENERAL The Chairman read a letter of resignation from Mrs Severance
as a member of the Town Celebrations Committee Mrs Haskell W Reed
has been named by the Board of Selectmen as her replacement
St Theresa's Drill Team has written about the Patriots Day
parade participation Mrs Litchfield will inform them we will let
them know after the first of the year
A possible theme for Patriots Day PRESERVE AND PROTECT
This theme comes from Allen Drury's new book, according to Mrs
Litchfield
The next TCC meeting will take place at 8PM in the
Selectmen's Office on Thursday, November 21st
