TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE
October 24, 1968
PRESENT Chmn Barnes, Mr Gaughan, Mrs Litchfield, Mr Lord and
Mrs Hall
VETERANS DAY Mrs Litchfield will ask the Veterans of Foreign Wars
to meet with this committee on Thursday, November 7th at 8PM in the
Selectmen's Office This will be done by mail All Veterans Day
plans will be firmed up at that time
The Speaker of the Day for Veterans Day will be the Commander
of the Air Force Cambridge Research Laboratories, Col Dale J Flinders
The ladies on the TCC will call Mr Barnes giving him the
names of Youth groups for the parade lineup
The parade staff is as follows
Chief Marshal - Warren A Hawkins, Jr , Commander
Post #3007 V F W
Aide - Fred J Kolb, Commander
Stanley Hill Post, American Legion
Aide - William Fick, Past Commander
Lexington Minute Men
Mrs Litchfield will write a letter to Rev Floyd J Taylor
thanking him for his faithfulness in duties to this committee over the
years
MISCELLANEOUS Mr Barnes will write to the American Legion and ask
that they give us the name of a Speaker of the Day for Memorial Day
1969 on or before December 1st If we do not hear from the Legion,
the committee will proceed to invite a Speaker for Memorial Day 1969
Mrs Litchfield will write to the various Armed Services in
December asking their participation in our April 19th parade of 1969
