TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE
March 28, 1968
PRESENT Chmn Barnes, Mr Gaughan, Mrs Litchfield, Mrs Severance,
Mr Lord, and Mrs Hall
Also present were Chief Marshal Wyman, Chief of Staff Zeoli ,
and Captain McNamara - Parade Staff
PATRIOTS DAY Fort Devens is sending a US Army Color Guard and Honor
Unit, and USA-ASA Band Col W J Yamber is the Acting Chief of
Staff at Fort Devens, Station G-3 Mr Belcastro will notify Anthony's
Restaurant that there will be approximately 130 men for luncheon from
Fort Devens
The committee approved Mr Ruquisk's request to have the Colonial Fife
& Drum Corps from Norwood participate in the afternoon parade They
would be in the 3rd Centennial Division Mrs Hall will call Mr Ruquisk
to procure an address for mailing our roster
The Needham Girl Scout Drum & Bugle Corps has accepted in writing
The Christian Service Brigade of Grace Chapel will participate in the
Sunrise Parade
A few changes were written into the Parade ORDERS by Chief Marshal Wyman
and Chief of Staff Zeoli , and the Orders were firmed up for printing
The locations of back Patriots Day film were discussed, and it was agreed
these should be rounded up for deposit at the Cary Memorial Library
The committee has okayed the participation in the Sunrise Parade of the
Lexington Horse Drill Team Miss Carol Young is the girl to contact
Mary Farris has twenty blankets available for use on the reviewing stand
Mr Gaughan will pick them up on the 19th between ten and ten-thirty
For the committee's information, Miss Farris is in the Public Information
Office at Hanscom Field, and her phone # is 274-6100, Extension 5316
It was voted to have Mr Lord look into having the NORAD Band Concert at
the High School Auditorium on the 19th for several reasons, some of which
would be better parking facilities; more space with risers available for
the band on the stage Mr Lord is the liaison between the TCC and
Hanscom Field for the concert arrangements
Mr Gaughan will work with Mr Mazarell on details for having the flag
over the Green replaced with one to be given us by the USS Lexington
CV-2 Minuteman Club at their ceremony on the Green in the month of May

Next week, final details will be worked on for the NORAD Band
