TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE
February 8, 1968
PRESENT Chmn Barnes, Mrs Litchfield, Mrs Severance, Mr Sperduto,
and Mr Lewis
VISITOR Col Richard F Zeoli - Chief of Staff
MEMORIAL DAY The Legion will invite Major General K B Lennon, Jr ,
CO at Fort Devens, to be the Speaker of the Day We await their results
PATRIOTS DAY The luncheon plans were announced and have been finalized
The luncheon will take place at the Lexington Motor Inn
CORRESPONDENCE The Linn Village Drum Band will not march with us on the
19th They will , however, be able to perform on Sunday, April 21st, on the
Green
The Tufts Naval ROTC Color Guard, Marching Unit and Drill Team (45 men) will
march The Tufts Air Force Unit cannot march
The Northeastern Counter Guerilla Group will march without its band
The Rutgers University Colonial Color Guard, made up of Army and Air Force
ROTC, about 24 men, will march in the 3rd Division Mrs Severance will
inform Mr Edgar
Mrs Litchfield will write to the Enunciators Drum & Bugle Corps, Inc at
50 Bow St , Somerville, giving this group information on our parade, since
they have expressed an interest in marching with us
Invitations to go out All Bands will be invited, High Schools, Grotto
Oriental , and so forth
We had a letter from the Chamber of Commerce on behalf of their Lawrence
High School Band, and we will invite them to join our parade
We will invite the Salem Rockettes Drum & Bugle Corps - about 125 strong
Also to be invited are the Methuen High School Cadet Corps, Reading Police
Association, Medfield Drill Team, Lexington Police Women's Association
Mrs Severance will check with Mrs Cole to see if either the Pioneer Girls
or the Christian Service Brigade will march in the afternoon parade
All dignitaries, including the President of the United States will be
invited to be our guests on April 19th

The Check List was reviewed in its entirety Next week's meeting will be
the Preliminary Float Meeting Mr Sperduto will invite appropriate
people to meet with us
