TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE
January 4, 1968
PRESENT Chmn Barnes, Mr Gaughan, Mr Sperduto, Mr Lord, Mr Broderick,
Mrs Litchfield, Mrs Severance, and Mrs Hall
Mr Raymond Lewis is our newly-appointed member of TCC, replacing
Mr Broderick, and he was welcomed heartily The committee also
accepts Mr Broderick's resignation with deep regret Mr Lewis
was the first appointed Chairman of the Town Celebrations
Committee, and it's great to have him back
PATRIOTS DAY The following schedule has been set up for the next several
TCC meetings
January Ilth - Past Marshals meet with us
January 18th - Civic Groups meet with us
January 25th - Youth Groups meet with us at 8 PM
Veterans Groups meet with us at 8 45 PM
February 1st - Fire and Police Department personnel meet
with us
February 8th - Movies of last year's parade to be shown
to all interested people Mr Lord is
making these arrangements
Mrs Litchfield will invite the ROTC groups, both male and female groups,
to march with us on April 19th
Mr Lord reported that Mr Gillespie is all set for the Patriotic Song
Festival to be held on the Green on Sunday, April 21st Also suggested
as possibilities for that day were a band concert by the High School
Band, and a muster by the various Minute Men groups in nearby towns and
in Lexington
Suggestions for the parade theme were
"Peace Through Unity" and "Revival of Patriotism"
Mrs Hall was asked to update the TCC Telephone List and the List of
Town Clergy
At next week's meeting, the Invitation List will be gone over, as well
as previous minutes pertinent to this time of year

MEMORIAL DAY On January 25th, when the Veterans Groups meet with
this committee, we will have a discussion of a possible speaker for
Memorial Day, and then issue an invitation to a speaker to allow
plenty of time for his planning
