' TOWN CET,FBRATIONS COMMITTEE
November 16, 1967
PRESENT Chmn. Barnes, Mrs Litchfield, Mrs. Severance, Mr Sperduto,
Mr Lord and Mr Belcastro
VETERANS DAY Mrs Litchfield will write thank you notes to Chief
Marshal Ormiston of the V.F W , and the Speaker of the Day, State
Senator Ronald C MacKenzie for their participation in our Veterans
Day activities and program.
Mr Gaughan has suggested that we Inv bunting for the town's speakers'
stands to be used on the many occasions they are needed throughout
the year. The committee liked the idea, and Mrs. Litchfield will ask
Mr Gaughan to take care of this matter.
PATRIOTS DAY Mrs Litchfield will write to the military and invite
them to participate in our Patriots Day activities (Army, Navy, Coast
Guard, Marines, Air Force, etc ) and also to Norwich University
She will also write to the Linn Village Drum Band to ask that they
be a part of our Patriots Day parade She will also ask if they would
put on an exhibition on the Green on Sunday, April 21st, in conjunction
with the Cary Lecture Series program, in addition to their April 19th
participation.
A Chief Marshal will be named at our first 1968 TCC meeting, and the
committee should be thinking of a theme to he presented at this
meeting.
Mr Lord will contact Mr. Gillespie to see if the High School Band
could participate in a Patriotic Song Festival on the Green on
Sunday, April 21st, along with the aforementioned roup and along
with various Minute Men groups
Mrs Severance will look up a picture or pictures of our TCC committee
which would be suitable for the Town Report of Lexington.
MISCELLANEOUS Mrs Litchfield has reserved the Selectmen's Office
for TCC meetings beginning the first Thursday evening in 1968, i e
January 4th, and right on through Patriots Day, 1968
