UNITED NATIONS DAY Mr•. Will tan from the Lexington Coeur-11 of Chirrhei ,
presented a program tc he held on TIN Day, Octnher• ?lith, in the even.mg,
at the Diamond Junior Nigh School, The Rev, Rodney Shaw will give a talk
on "World Peace and Deferred Priorities". We will give this program some
publicity in conjunction with our own TCC publicity for UN Day,
The Lions Club will be happy to rlonte. a UN flag to the new Borman School .
Haskell. Reed of the Lions Club will present it tc, Principal Perkin' (whom
Mr. Lord will. contact) at the 7 am UN Day program on the Greer.
The Jaycees will he happy to donate the tree to the Bridge School.
Mrs. Litchfield will contact Mr Mancini of the Jaycees to firm up plane
for a tree-planting ceremony along with Prit,cipal. Goodrich of the Bridge
School, She will call. Mr Mazarrell of the Park Department about secing
where the tree will he placed .and, any other pertinent details Mr Lord
will call Dr. Goodrich regarding the tree-planting program details,
Rev, Martin U. McCabe of Sacred Heart Church will give the invocation,
and the Rev. Gr. Stanley 5. Haraka: of the Creek Orthodox Church will
give the benediction.
Mr. Broderick will talo, charge of the flag detail, for the Green ceremony.
Mrs Hall will. call Mrs. Prick of the League or Women Voters and P. .1- that
she introduce the representatives of the 'Rotary and i•lks clubs to present
the prizes for the Essay and Poster-Contests to the winners She will
he asked to see to it that the winner are perp tent on the Green at 7 am,
Mr. Lord will run off program" for the Green ceremony. Mr'., Hall will mail
them to TOO member's both aforementioned member of the clery, Mr. Cole,
the Chairman of the Board of Selectmen, the four veter,ns organization' in
Lexington, and to all pro •ident,s of the involved organization: in Lexington.
Mrs, Hall will, call Mr Mark Moore of the Rotary club and Mr Petri.n. of
the Elks Club to remind each to he present on the Green at. 7 am.
Mr. Broderick will. give the UN porters to Mrs. Hall, and she, Mrs, Ii.tchfield,
and Mrs. Severance will put them in the .tcre4 in downtown Lexington,
