TOWN CELEBRATIfNS COMMITTEE
April 27, 1967
PRESENT Chmn Barnes,, Vice Chmn, Gaughan, Mr. Broderick, Mr. Sperduto,
Mr Lord, Mr Belcastro, Mrs. Litchfield, Mrs. Severance,
Mr. Brenchick and Mrs Hall..
VISITOR Mr, James Edgar, Minute Men
PATRIOTS DAY Mrs Litchfield will send thank-you notes to the High School
bands that marched on April 19th She will. also thank the C. & W. Bus
Company for their donation of buses, and CaptaAn Vultaggio and thank him
particularly for the blankets. They proved to come in mighty handy on
our big day in Lexington.
Mr. Belcastro will send thank-you notes to the High School student drivers
of the cars in the parade.
Mrs. Severance will. thank Station WBZ for their help in informing people
of the morning parade's ca.leellation, as well as the day's events.
Mr. Sperduto will check over the "Spirit of '76" costumes with Mr. Maxner,
and make an inventory of same.
Mrs Litchfield will write to Hanscom about our produring an Astronaut for
next year's Patriots Day .feastivities.
Chief Marshal Brenrhick will write to Northeastern's Scabbard and Blade
Group about the throwing of their .fi,ed sabers in the parade. Mr. Brenchick
will bring to the next TrC meeting his recommendations for next year's
Patriots Day parade.
UiSS LEXINGTON- MEMORIAL SERVICE Father Gaudette of St. Brigid's Church and
Rev. Peterson of the Fir Baptist Church will. represent the clergy at this
service.
Mrs. Litchfield will. ask Mr. Lawrence Stone to he bugler rot thi=s service and.
for the Memorial Day service She will also ask a member of Lexington's
clergy to speak on May 6th at, 2 pm,
Mr. Belcastro will ask Mr. Mazarrell to have a small speaker's stand on the
Green for the ISS Lexington service, He 'will request a larger speake- 's
stand for the Memorial Day service.
MEMORIAL. DAY Mr. Gaughan will check on Col. Kellogg for our speaker of the
day

Rev Peterson of the First Baptist Church will be happy to host the
Memorial Day Churca service on Sunday, May ?nth at 10 )Ir am,
Rev, Daniel Higgi nr will. be called by Mrs. Litchfield to give the
benediction at the service on the Green
We have had no renly as yet from Col Kellogg or Col Bertel.li on the
• Memorial Day parade, nor have we heard from Hanscom or Lexington's
American Legion Post.
Mrs Hall will contact the Legion and V F G1 member to send a
ropre,entative to ou' next TCC meeting on May hth She will call the
Bey Snouts and the Hayden Fifers Pr Drummer to participate in the
Memorial. Day parade, The Girl Scout have been notified
