Stephen Swots, Prom-manaders Carolyn Greene, Prom-manaders Joseph Yacus, Jaycees Donald Godsoe, Grace Chapel College Career Group Judy Tatman, League of Women Voters George Comley, Lions Club PATRIOTS DAY Chairman Barnes welcomed our guests and turned the meeting over to Tony Sperduto, Tony cautioned the Float Applicants that the TCC has the right to refuse any float not considered in good taste. He also went over the list of float instructions. -- - Yr-s-. Totman-asked whether a- vehicle- could he- put on- skateboards and--pull-ed along the parade route. Tf she had the manpower to have ' .float pulled the entire route without breaking down, this would be acceptable. Mr. Barnes cautioned that heavily-treaded vehicles could not he used if they tended to damage the streets. Mr. Cronin suggested thAt Float applicants write a short resume on how they are displaying the theme "PEACE - LIBERTY - INDEPENDENCE - THEN GLORIOUS REWARD" so that the judge( can appreciate the thoughts behind the floats. CORRESPONDENCE Acceptances are listed below Capt and Mrb Houtsma, First Coast Guard District Gen. and Mrs McGonagle Capt and Mrs. Vult, ggio, Director of Information, Hanacom Field. Gen, OtMalley and Aide Capt. Egan W . and 1 . Bruno Bertelli, Massachusetts National Guard U. S. Naval Base Boston Band, First Naval District 302 Congre :sman Bradford Morn hopefully will be in attendance. The committee is tabling two parade applicant for the time being. They are the Lawrence High Schorl Band in Falmouth and St. Joseph's Drtm, Bugle, and Drill Team in Roxbury, the latter being •ponscrred by the Malden American Legion Post Richard Michelson suggested to our Chief' Marshal that number signs be put on trees in East Lexington for the lining up of floats and parking space. for these floats. Mr. Michelson has offered his assistance in this matter. Mr. Ward from the Lexington Minute Men asked if it wa. possible for the 1 Minute Men to he at the head of the afternoon parade The committee felt it was not feasible this year a. it is too late in the year to alter the parade order. The parade order has already been pre-determined This is one of the den:-Ions made by the Chief Marshal, and the committee accepts the Chief Mar <hal' decision. It was suggested to Mr. Ward that the Minute Men meet with the TCC next Fall and again bring up their request at a Sugger•tione Meeting of TOO. Mr. Ward was informed that the meeting of Revere and Dawe at the Minute Man Statue at 1 pm on April 19th is not a matter under the jurisdiction of the TCC. We suggested he contact either the Selectmen's office or, speak with Chief Corr. Mr. Ward said the Minute Men were considering putting on a review around noontime on the Green prior to the arrival of Revere and Dawes. This idea met unanimous approval by the TOO. Mr. Ward was asked to contact Mrrs. Severance when their plans were firmed up, so that she could take care of the publicity. Chief Marshal. Brenchick's parade .taff is coming along nicely Mr. Gaughan mentioned that the TCC war not told to decorate the new Public Facilities Building with bunting for April 19th as of now Mr. Barnes will check into this matter and let Mr. Gaughan know if we have the authority to include it in our list of town buildings to he decorated. Mr Gaughan will then notify the Rogee Company Mr. Gaughan 'nggested that the TCC march a a unit at the head of the 'unrise parade, and also suggested Chief Marshal.
