TOWN CELEBRATIONS CONNITTEE
March 2, 1967
PRESENT Chmn, Barnes, Mrs. Litchfield, Mrs. Severance, Mr. Gaughan,
Mr. Lord, Mr Sperduto, Mr. Broderick, Mr. Belcastro and
Mrs. Hall .
PATRIOTS DAY Mr. Lord will look into procuring a photographer for
the day He has in mind a new teacher at the High School .
Mr. Parnes stated that the Minute Men could march at the head of the
parade in the afternoon, but not at, the head of the 1st division. This
is not a matter of protocol
It wa stated that the Town C lehration: Committee is not responsible
for any arrangements for the Dawes/Revere reception at.the Minute Man
Statue on the Green at 1 pm.
The ladies on this committee will come up with a favor idea to he
presented to all lad .e present at the luncheon
Athol High School Band has accepted our invitation for the afternoon
parade.
Joseph Rooney will look into the pos,•ihility of having the Lexington
School Color Guard march in the parade, .
The Red Cross ambulance will be available for the sunrise parade only..
A contingent of Senior Girl Scotts will march in the afternoon parade.
Mr .. Litchfield brought the arm band supply list up to date, and we have
on -hand -a.—sufficient quantity,--- -- -
We received three regrets from the following dignita.rie
Governor Volpe
Senator Brooke
Senator Kennedy
The committee again went over the check list,
Mr,. Litchfield ha. been asked to invite the Holy. Name Society Band from
We• t Roxbury, and the Medfield Drill Team to march in the afternoon
parade. She will also invite Senator Saltonr•tall and. General. and
Mrs. McGonagle to be our guests on April 19th Por luncheon and on through
the day's activities.

Mrs. Hall. will c• 1l. Ellison Beckwith to tee if he want the antique fire
engine in the afternoon parade. She will also call. Nancy Hyatt and check
on which Hayden unit are marching, and in which parade She will also
call Dr Clifford Hunt and ask that he meet with us next week March 9th,
to di :cuss the antique car participation.
Thn Float, Meeting will be on March 16th Mr. Sperduto he sent out the
applications and anti£ ed the people of this meeting.
