MEMORIAL DAY SUGGESTIONS Make certain there are enough wreaths at
the Munroe Cerh'etery for placement during the service there.
Thought should be given to the replentishing of the grave marker,
which stipulate either V,W.W,, Marine Corps League, or American Legion.
In addition to appointing a Chief Marshal for the day, someone should
be appointed as Master of Ceremonies for the day, someone familiar
with the Memorial Day procedures at the various parade stops and on
to the Green.
Make up a specific agenda for the various Memorial Day stops, so
that the procedure at each of these stops is clearly outlined
Form a Committee of Veterans who will be responsible for locating
and decorating every veteran's grave, and this committee to report
to the Veterans Graves Registration Officer.
MISCELLANEOUS The Lexington Civil Rights Committee has asked to
borrow our P. A. System for a Children's Concert they and sponsoring
in June. The committee voted approval, with the understanding that
a qualified person would use the equipment, and that the system be
returned to us in good condition.
Mrs. Litchfield will write thank you notes to William Carmen, the
Memorial Day-speaker and- to the Girl Scouts for their participation
on Memorial Day. She will also thank the various drivers and car
donors for their generosity on April 19th.
Our budget was gone over, and our expenses are mounting to near capacity.
Mrs. Litchfield and Mrs. Hall will comprise a comparative expense sheet
(the last two year's expenses) to be perused at the cookout on June 16th.
With any corrections or additions after that perusal, Mrs Hall will
finalize the sheet for the selectmen's perusal.
