Team) Check carefully for unauthorized vehicles in parade. Three cars managed to get in this year from the Medford Jaycees. Traffic should he closed on Massachusetts Avenue no later than 1:30 p.m. for parade lineup. Traffic should be re-routed up Taft Avenue, and one or two divisions could form on Pleasant Street to avoid congestion at the circle. The Spirit of '76 should be carefully told its duties. Worthen Road was not policed effectively. Parade had to go to center of intersection. People and cars should be cleared from left side of road for parade to use. • The Aides to the rear of each division worked well with the Scouts as Junior Aides. The Missile and two floats would never have made the turn at Harrington Road, had the parade route not been changed. Insist on advance notice of cars carrying State and County Commanders plus aged veterans, so that they can be placed correctly in the Division, nut of the way of floats. A sign might be put on the Lady Lexington float indicating she left the float to be on the reviewing stand, for parade watchers past the reviewing stand. The Concord. Minute Men should be definitely instructed as to what is expected of them. They completely broke up their division. Poor showing. Fleepo the Clown performed well at the very end of the parade. This seems a good spot for him. Chief Marshal could use one Aide at the Traffic Circle in East Lexington to handle incoming units. 260 • r Major Remus proved an excellent substitute (and at the last minute) for Joe Rooney, when the latter was the recipient of the White Tricorn Hat award. Mr. Graustein has recommended William Brenchik, Jr for next year's Chief Marshal. a J
