VISITORS Mr. Fitzgerald, Veteran' of Foreign Wars Mr. Batson, Veterans of Foreign Wars Mr. Sisk, American Legion Mr Lewis, American Legion Mr Rooney Mrs. Farwell PATRIOTS DAY Mrs. Farwell, representing the Diamond Clowns , said Dr Harris will march along the parade route with the four girls, but off to one side The girls' permission slips were turned in to this committee The group will have a small bike with them. Col. and Mrs Long have accepted our invitation. Mrs J. N. 0. Curie cannot come on the 19th. A Mrs. Dudley wrote about an antique fire engine for the parade ( She will be referred to Dr. Hunt (antique cars) for participation. The Board of Selectmen reappointed Mrs. Litchfield, Mrs Severance, and Mr. Sperduto to this committee until April 30, 1969. The Fiske Hill ceremony will take place on Saturday, April 16th at 14 p.m. We hope to have a good representation from this committee. The Democratic Club float will not be in the parade. Mr Sperduto—will call Dr Clarke of—the—Spirit—of-176-about- maneuvering in front of the reviewing stand, and being at attention while dignitaries arrive. Mr. Graustein will instruct the trio from the reviewing stand The Bedford Street side of the Green will have to be blocked off for cars in the motorcade Mrs Moyle will be told to expect about 100 people at the reception after the parade. The day's activities will be fully covered by the Air Force photography crew from Hanscom Field. GENERAL The previous minutes to date have been approved by this committee i II 256 MEMORIAL DAY The committee apologized to the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars members present for not putting the Department Commanders' names on the April 19th_ Afternoon Roster. (George F. Stitt, American Legion, and Joseph Riley, Veterans Of 1 Foreign Wars). The committee will make arrangements for the Memorial Day church service for the veterans. Mr• . Litchfield will invite Captain James Leahy to be the speaker of the day at the ceremonies on the Green Mr. Lord will look into procuring the High School Band. and an "echo" player, and he will see Miss McIntyre about a student to give the Gettysburg Address in the Munroe Cemetery. Mrs Litchfield will send written invitations to Mr Gillespie and the band, and to Miss McIntyre about the student. She will remind the band that it i., invited to the American Legion Hall collation right after the parade Mrs. Litchfield will also invite the following to be part of the Memorial Day plans Rufus McQuillan 3rd Rocket Battalion, National Guard Hayden Fifers & Drummers Boy -Scouts and Girl. Scouts Lexington School Color Guard Jody Drill Team, Hanscom Field The Junior High Schools Band (through Mr Gillespie, and invite them also to the American Legion collation after the parade.)
