Mr. Barnes went over the April 19th particulars, .gave the new theme for
this year, and reminded those present that any floats should conform
to that theme in some mariner. He stressed that we need marching units
for the afternoon parade, and hoped some of the groups represented could
come up with such units.
Mrs. LaPorte mentioned that there was no room in East Lexington to
properly line up the Girl Scouts. Mrs. Richards said the same for the
Campfire Girls. Mr. Barnes suggested they might have to line up
right on Massachusetts Avenue. The Brownies were rushed into the
parade at Munroe School, so as to cause confusion. It is hoped some
units will mark time so that the Brownies can orderly march into the
parade formation.
Mr. Beamon reported that the Lexington Youth Baseball will have two or
three units or teams march with their coaches this year He suggested
the awarding of a small annual cup to the unit appearing neatly
uniformed, plus being neatly line up, and marching well together He
felt some local club would be happy to donate such a cup, provided we
instigated the activity Mr. Beaman suggested also that perhaps
arrangements could be-made--to haveonewhole den-travel -to East --
Lexington in one car, to ease the traffic problem on the morning of
April 19th. This might be put in the Parade Orders as a suggestion,
Mrs. Evans said the Pioneer Girls will be marching from East Lexington,
and the Pilgrims would join the parade at the Munroe School. The
Pioneer Girls sincerely hope the Demolay Band does not march behine them.
The cadence caller confused their marching.
The Demolay Boys will have its Patrol Team (25 to 30 boys) and. Color
Guard in both parades, and they will have three convertibles and a float
in the afternoon parade

Mr Ruocco said the Lexington Academy of the Holy Family will march
in the Sunrise Parade.
Mrs Hall will call Mr. Wingerden, 21 Oxbow Road, 862-7883, who is the
representative of the Christian Service Brigade at the Grace Chapel,
and ask if they are interested in marching on April 19th.
No' t week, the Lexington Civic Groups will meet with this committee on
the second floor of the Town Office Building. The exact area will be
ported in the entrance hall.
CORRESPONDENCE Senator Saltonstall hopes to be with us on April 19th.
The Tufts Naval R.O.T.C. Drill Team and Band accept our invitation to
march, as does the Woburn High School Band. We will wait one more
week before inviting any more bands.
The Lexington Minute Men will determine and line up all units for the
Ird division. Our committee will invite units for the 3rd division only
as requested by the Minute Men
