TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE
October 11 , 1965.
PRESENT Chairman Barnes, Mr Gaughan, Mrs Litchfield,
Mrs Severance, Mr. Broderick, Mr Healy,
Mr Sperduto, Mr. Lord, and Mrs Hall
VISITORS Raymond Lewis, American Legion
Charles Sisk, Commander, American. Legion
Lincoln Cole, Chairman, Board of Selectmen
NOVEMBER 11TH - VETERANS DAY The Munroe School will be the
probable starting point for the parade, though a definite
decision is yet to come.
The High School! Band will be marching in the parade. Also,
the Campfire Girls will send a delegation for the parade.
Miss Keefe feels it best to have the Lexington School Color
Guard march on April 19th.
Mr. Lewis asked that the American Legion go on record as
backing the Town Celebrations Committee on Veterans Day
planning.
It is understood that the Veterans Of Foreign Wars are
hosts for Veterans Day.
Mrs Litchfield will ask the four Veterans groups in
Lexington to send representatives to our next meeting
on October 21st. This includes the American Legion,
the Marine Corps League, the Veterans Of Foreign Wars,
and tine -Lexington-Minute-Men.-
UNITED NATIONS DAY: Miss Keefe, principal at Maria Hastings
School, will send an invitation to Lincoln P Cole, and the
Board of Selectmen, and to Mr. William Roger Greeley, to
attend the school's UN Day program on Monday, October 25th,
at 9.30 a.m.
Mrs Litchfield will write a note to Mr Arthur Douglas
and remind him of the Hastings School program.

Mrs. Severance will ask the Minute Man paper to have a
photographer on the Green by 7 a.m. on October 25th.
GENERAL. This committee discussed this Year's expenses
and talked about 1966's budget. It was voted that we ask
for a $5200.00 budget in 1966.
Mr. Cole brought up the subject of possibly changing the
parade route on April 19th Rev. Floyd Taylor has property
problems, being located on the corner of Bedford Street and
Harrington Road. This problem should be brought up again
during the weeks of preparation for April 19'a parade. -
Mr. Barnes mentioned Lexington's Boy Scouts, and the
possibility of their "policing" that corner. Mr. Barnes
also brought up the possibility of the Park Department's
fencing off that corner, to prevent people from running
through Mr. Taylor's yard.
