VETERANS DAY Mr. Healy is the Liason between the Veterans
groups and this committee. It was unanimously agreed to march
back to the Cary Hall area following the ceremony on the Green.
Mr. Lewis feels the parade should start from the Adams
School, as it has in past years. The parade starting time
will be at 10 a.m. Mr. Healy asked that he begiven the names
of the Chief Marshal and Aides. This committee has agreed to
contact the clergy for the Green ceremony.
Mr. Guiler will let us know if the Fifes and Drums of the
Minute Men will play .in the parade,• since mere music was
suggested. Mr. Guiler mentioned, as a matter of interest,
that the Minute Men were given the Lexington Town Flag
by the Veterans Of Foreign Wars, and have permission from
the Hoard of Selectmen to carry it.
The problem of a speaker was discussed. Mr. Healy tried, in
vain, to reach Col. O'Neil at the Navy Yard. Mr. Garrity
suggested the State Commander of the Veterans Of Foreign
Wars. Another suggestion was Charles Colattos, Director
of Veterans Services for the Commonwealth. A third
suggestion is Cel. James L. Dick, the new Vice Commander
at the Air Force Cambridge Research Laborotories. A
letter from General Kiley notified us of his transfer to
the New Mexico Air Force Base, and he named Cel. Dick as
his replacement. The veterans groups will report to us on
a speaker this week.

expenses for next year. This estimate is to be in our
hands by November first.
Mr. Ralph Lord, our new member, was asked to see about
the High School public address system for UN Day and
Veterans' Day. Ours is probably adequate, but net

friend's replacement at the UN for a possible speaker.

take care of the programing. Mr Sperduto will call
Mrs. Frick if he finds a speaker available.

Maria Hastings School en October 25th, this to precede
the tree planting. Mrs. Litchfield will give the plaque,
concerned with the tree planting, to Miss Murray, and it
will go from there to Mr. Mazarrell of the Park
Department.
The UN posters ordered from the World Affairs Council are
here (at Mrs Litchfield's). The question was brought up
as to who would distribute them.
Mr. Lord is our liasen with Miss McIntyre at the High
School, and will report at the next meeting on progress made.

award the prizes for the Poster Contest. She will then
