TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE
April 8, 1965
PRESENT Chairman Barnes, Mr: Gaughan, Mr Healy,
Mr. Braderiok, Mr DiGiammarino, Mr Sperduto,
Mrs. Litphfield, Mrs. Severance, and Mrs. Hall.
VISITOR Donald Guitar, Chief Marshal
CORRESPONDENCE Lt Col. and Mrs. Coughlin have sent their
regrets for April 19th. Major Kent likewise has sent his
regrets. We will invite Col. and Mrs. Leo A. -Kiley,
Commanding Officer at the Air Force Cambridge Research
Laboratory to be sur guests on the 19th.
We will advise the Edgartown Boys Club we cannot use their
Drum & Bugle Corps at this late date, since our roster is
full.
A letter from Willard Kinsman advises us he hopes to see us
on the 19th.
We have regrets for April 19th from the Air Force Tufts
R. 0. T. C. Drill Team.
This ce mrittee received an invitation to the April 19th
Ball sponsored by the National Guard and the Concord
Minute Men at the Concord Armory at 8 p.m.
The minutes of this committee were approved through
April 1st.
We have been advised there will be thirty-one men from
Fort-Devens-on the 15th. ---
The check list was gone over again for last minute details.
Mr. Barnes reported the arm bands have been ordered, as
needed. They would include two dozen Aide bands, one
Division Marshal band, and two Town Celebrations Committee
bands, at an approximate cost of $35.00.
Mr. Gaughan will again call Major Kent at the Base to try
to procure someone qualified to take colored movies on
April 19th for this committee We also have Pat Fox in
mind, though she would prefer to be a backer-upper, which
would require of her lass time.

St. Joseph's Drill Team from Wakefield will be in the afternoon
parade after all.
Mr. Sperduto will try to procure 200 feet of power cable in 100
foot lengths for use on the Green with the public address
system. This, would be on a .loan basis.
A telephone talk with Bradford Morse advised us that Astronauts
Grissom and Young are not available for April 19th or May 30th.
MEMORIAL DAY Rufus MacQuillan will be willing to help in any
way, reports Mr. Cronin.
Col. Kiley was suggested as our speaker on the Green. We would
invite him after the afternoon parade on the 19th. Former
Marine Captain Willard Wyatt from Waltham, Massachusetts was
suggested by Jim Broderick as a possible alternate speaker, if
needed. We will invite the Air Force at Hanscom and the
National Guard to march on May 30th. We will invite the
Lexington Elementary School Color Guard and the High School
Band to march and participate on Memorial Day, this invitation
to be issued after April 19th.
We will invite the four veterans groups of Lexington to meet
with us next week, April 15th.
Mr. Sperduto will try to procure one convertible for the May 30th
parade for Mr. Foster, hoping .he may be able to walk in from the
gate at the cemetery.
The American Legion will have one car at the rear of its unit.
